Living abroad

Every hospital you have used, in one record.

In private care abroad, each hospital and clinic keeps its own notes, and none of them talk to each other. We gather them all, from every country, keep them current, and have them ready for the next doctor, the next move and the next insurance claim.

Sound familiar?

A new clinic, starting from nothing

You explain your history again, from memory, to a doctor who cannot see the scan you had in another city.

A summary, not your record

Ask a hospital in Thailand, Indonesia or the UAE for your records and you usually get a short summary. The full chart has to be asked for by name.

An insurer wants evidence

A claim or a new policy needs your history, and the letters are in three languages across four hospitals.

What we do

  1. 1

Ask each hospital for the full record

We write each request in the hospital's language, under its country's law, naming the full chart: doctors' notes, nursing notes, test and imaging reports, operation notes and discharge summaries.

  2. 2

    Read and join it up

Every page is read, translated beside the original, and checked against the rest of your history.

  3. 3

    Keep it ready

Send us each new document as it arrives. Before a move, an operation or a claim, we make you a care pack.

Where we get records from

CountryFeeTimeWhat comes back
United KingdomFreeOne month by law; Primary Care Support England says 28 daysPDF by secure email
ThailandAt cost, set by each hospital30 days by law; often 3 to 7 days in practiceCopies or a CD
IndonesiaSummary free; copies at costNot fixed; about 14 working days reportedA medical summary (resume) by default

Times are what the law or the hospital states. We chase, but cannot make a hospital faster than its own process.

Prices

Most people living abroad need two countries or more: the UK, plus each country they have been treated in.

Build my history, once

One country

£495

Your care has all been in one country, often the one you live in now.

Three or more, or complex

£1,295

Many hospitals, a long illness, or a language we need extra help with.

Keep it current

£395 a year

We add new care as it happens, chase what is missing, review the record once a year, and make one care pack for you each year.

A care pack on its own

£195

One focused pack for a new doctor, a move, a second opinion or treatment abroad, if you do not pay yearly.

A second person

Half the build

A partner, or a parent bought for by their son or daughter. Keeping it current is £195 a year.

You pay a quarter when we start, which covers the requests, and the rest when your record is delivered. All prices include VAT.

Founding customers: £495 for a two-country build, with the first year of keeping it current included. In return we ask for a short interview about how it went, so we can improve the service.

Questions

Each one shows part of one system's record, and only while you are registered there. When you leave the UK your GP record goes into storage, and Gulf hospital portals close when you leave the country. None of them joins up the countries you have lived in.

Yes. Where a document is in another language, your record gives the English beside it. If you need a certified translation for an official purpose, we arrange one and pass on the cost.

Most UK requests come back within a month. Providers abroad work to their own law and pace, from a few days in a Thai hospital to two months for older French records. We chase each one and tell you where things stand.

A person reads every document. The software that helps us read scans runs in Europe and keeps nothing. If you would rather your record never left us, we can read it on our own private servers instead. You choose.

Start with a conversation.

Tell us where you have lived and been treated. We will tell you what we can get, from whom, and what it costs, before you pay anything.
